bite the hand that feeds

HIERONYMUS BOSCH 1450-1516

Hieronymus Bosch, (latinised Jheronimus Bosch; real name Jeroen van Aken) (c. 1450August 9, 1516) was an Early Netherlandish painter of the fifteenth and sixteenth centuries. Many of his works depict sin and human moral failings. Bosch used images of demons, half-human animals and machines to evoke fear and confusion to portray the evil of man. The works contain complex, highly original, imaginative, and dense use of symbolic figures and iconography, some of which was obscure even in his own time. He is said to have been an inspiration for the surrealist movement in the twentieth century.

Life and Work:

He was born was Jheronimus (or Jeroen) van Aken (meaning "from Aachen"), but signed some of his paintings with Bosch (pronounced Boss in Dutch), derived from his birthplace, 's-Hertogenbosch.
Born to a family of Dutch and German painters, he spent most of his life in 's-Hertogenbosch, a flourishing city in fifteenth century
Brabant, in the south of the present-day Netherlands. In 1463, some 4000 houses in the town were destroyed by a catastrophic fire, which the then (approximately) 13-year-old Bosch may have witnessed. He became a popular painter and even received commissions from abroad. In 1488 he joined the highly respected Brotherhood of Our Lady, an arch-conservative religious group of some 40 influential citizens of 's-Hertogenbosch and some 7000 'outer-members' from all over Europe.
Bosch produced several
triptychs, works of three paintings on wooden panels that are attached to each other. Among his most famous is The Garden of Earthly Delights. This triptych depicts paradise with Adam and Eve and many wondrous animals on the left panel, the earthly delights with numerous nude figures and tremendous fruit and birds on the middle panel, and hell with depictions of fantastic punishments of the various types of sinners on the right panel. When the exterior panels are closed the viewer can see, painted in grisaille, God creating the Earth.
These paintings have a rough surface from the application of paint; this contrasts with the traditional
Flemish style of paintings, where the smooth surface attempts to hide the fact that the painting is man-made.
Bosch never dated his paintings and may have signed only some of them (other signatures are certainly not his). Fewer than 25 paintings remain today that can be attributed to him.
Philip II of Spain acquired many of Bosch's paintings after the painter's death; as a result, the Prado Museum in Madrid now owns several of his works, including The Garden of Earthly Delights.
Pieter Brueghel the Elder was influenced by Bosch's work and produced several paintings in a similar style, for instance the 1562 work The Triumph of Death.

Wednesday Hump day!

Ok so here i am in mid week. So far this week has not been so bad , besides the fact that i had to sit through meetings all day yesterday. UGGGH... damn company. Anyways. I will start off with the weekend and work my way up to today. First things first HOW bout them Cowboys!!

Friday-So this weekend started out with my friends and I heading towards Corsicana TX to meet up with my chick Randi. The traffic was not what i expected it was not as bad actually. If it weren't for me having to drive the speed limit due to my friends following me and not stopping to pee and buy more beer i would have gotten there before TEN o'clock lol. It was a fun ride i of course drove my own car as Jamie drove her car with Krystal. My friends ended up hitting a whole family of raccoons ..... take this moment for some silence. Ok so ya we got there and my chick and I enjoyed the stars outside for a hot moment if ya know what i mean wink wink lol. My friends seriously must think i have a problem lol and they know exaclty what i mean and yes i am addicted to it. Oh hell ... yes sex. ok.

OH and ya the picture above shows my cheap ass air mattress, and Jamie's with her hole in hers. So that explains both being on top of each other. She literally woke up unable to move because it deflated around her lol so ya enjoy the chuckle just thank Jamie.

Saturday morning- Ok so on to another subject we woke up to rain in the morning so no lake for us at all . instead we walked around in the rain climbed some round bales and then journeyed up a mountain of rectangular bales in the big barn. We climbed and sat and all of us enjoyed the breeze it was such a pretty day getting to see all the horses and such . I believe after that we decided to watch a little bit of the OU and UT game, good game but UT lost :( oh well can't win em all.

Saturday evening-We ended up going to this bad assss park and played some volleyball and i haven't felt like a kid in a long time it was so refreshing. I got to see Krystal attempt to pee in public with her white ass lol, i scared her by pointing her white ass to the world so she couldn't pee ha ha. my bad. OMG so before the park we went to Chilli's and i swear i love nothing more than spending some great time going to dinner with friends and loved ones but when all goes wrong it's hard not to be a bit sour. So it turns out my meal for $17.19 turned out to be $118.90 so i was charged incorrectly 2x the first ticket was for $20.09 they added a soda on the ticket and my lord the restrooms were grosssss... no toilet paper in one out of the two stalls . I guy got food spilled all over him next to me and my friend Krystal got cold veggies and the wrong plate . I am not one to ever hardly complain but after waiting an hour for our food and some of us getting our appetizers before our meal kinda sucked, it sucked. Oh well my bank sucks ass because they still have not credited my whole amount yet but oh well it was all fun. The park made up for it for sure and so did my chick I swear she has me all head over hills it' s so not funny. She is the greatest i think i will write a blog dedicated to just her. yep i think i will. On to the rest of the Saturday night.

Saturday night- The club the Excalibur , the only one in Corsicana. So of course we had to check it out. Honestly i did think it was nice for Corsicana, it does need some work tho. First off all the pool tables have no room to be played on without whacking someone in the gut or back. They are obviously confused as to whether be a sports bar dance hall or lounge. The setup up sucks. Just some adjustments as to where to put the pools tables bar stool and furniture would make it more of a friendly place. But ya it has potential. We left that and proceeded to go bowling BYOB bitches. Ya i had a shot of Tuaca at the bar and was feeling good Krystal's bright idea of both of us trying to bowl together didn't work the first time i had a delay of game to say the least and the bowling ball hit the black row bar - the one that knock em down and sets em back up - so ya i was like oh shit . The lady that works there saw but everyone seemed to think it was funny so of course i had to do it again lol, so here is the equation 2 (bowlers) + 2 (balls)= 1 (gutter ball) and 1 (pin) lol. ya that's right just one pin got knocked down out of all that work. Gotta love alcohol. Fun times my girl rocks she beat us again. darn.

Sunday - We got to bath all of Randi's horses , it was so fun her horses rock. It was fun i got to learn that horses are like dogs once you bath them you got to tie them up so they wont roll around in the dirt. anyways my weekend was fun. After all the horses getting a bath i was hungry and so was my chick and BF's. Taco Bell it was. Krystal left her purse there but before she left she went and got it. They had a blast! Got to also meet Amanda's parents and animals her dogs are so cute.

Monday= DALLAS undefeated baby! nuff said.

FOOT bag

Mr Rasta is what i call it. You may ask what is The Raff talkin' bout. Well I was bored at work and decided to stroll to Planet K with a friend of mine and see what we can get our hands on. Mr Rasta was on sale for $4.50 and out of the 3 that were in deed for sale at a remarkable price this ladies and gents was the most handsome. You tell me , would you rather kick around a fat as yellow Wal-Mart smiley face foot bag , a Ridiculous "OVAL" 8ight ball that was filled with the cheapest -round- unstable beans what kind of foot bag is that....OR a wonderful, colorful, small bean foot bag? Huh what did you say? Yaaaa you see it is a true original happy crunchy foot bag named Mr Rasta. Great stuff. The first kick was so amazing i thought i was going to tremble .....lol ha got ya ! Whhhat the duece...

How to make a comic "quickly" LOL

So i searched on Wiki and found some interesting readings , so ya work is kinda slow right now so what else do i do for fair shits and giggles. I hope to get some pointers for my own comic, but as well as i know myself i love to do things the UN-original way by myself... so i guess research and time is what i really need to focus on right now to get my comic written in full. Now i need an artist because the Great bad ass i tried to snag won't wake up from his procrastinated state. Wake the fuck up dude. And then there was silence....zzzz. Nope , no use. So ya back to the part of my comic and me needing a damn artist. I am an artist myself but i am by no means a comic artist it takes a degree of skill and accommodation of flow process to be great. Damn artist. Why must the greatest always be lost in feeling. Guess that is what makes them the near necessity of today's writers. The joy of it all when it comes to play.~

Sometimes stories come to me before going to sleep then i have to wake up and go and jot it down on some random paper and try to make it as clear and brief as possible, because for one i am going to be waking up in the morning wondering what the hell was i smoking if i don't make it clear as to what my point was and blah blah . Also #2 would be where did i lay it i usually lose it or end up washing the damn little "note to self" about some crazy ass storyline that could be an epic, BUT i just got done feeding it to my dryer, sweet don't ya love that. Anyways so ya i do have issues with remembering ideas or as i should say remembering to actually take time to write it down or finding a pen. WTF. I hate when i have to text message myself an idea of a character or idea period. Fun stuff . So ya that's what it's like to be me on a daily basis . My mind is out of control , my poor imagination i swear it has it's own secluded lil brain of it's own. yep . in fact it does lol. ok enough said ....

WIKI--
Writing a comic can only be achieved with a great idea, some spirit and ambition! It will take a long time to make comics at first, although you'll get much quicker as you keep working at it.

Steps
Brainstorm and think of a plot for your story. Don't make it too intricate, as you want to be able to make it quickly.
Once you have a solid idea thought out, flesh it out with characters. Make sure the characters are well adapted to their situation and that the details of the characters won't become difficult to manage in the context of the story later on.
Test out your characters in a specially created short story. Don't bother drawing it yet.
Work out a drawing style that you can continue to draw in for a long period, but that you like and that fits your story. Draw practice pages of random stories and people.
Draw out a short comic of your test story. Then see what you could do to make it better, and redraw it.
Now work on the final story and plot. Make sure it makes sense and that it, like the test story, fits the characters. Or expand upon your test story and mould that into the final plot/story.
Start drawing. Don't be hesitant to completely redo pages.
When you're done, you may want to ink and/or colour your comic.
If you feel like it, you could promote your comic and try to sell it to a publisher. But if you do, don't expect the going to be easy.

Tips
Collaborating with someone can help the process go faster and smoother.
Publishing your work on the web can have a lot of competition but it's the easiest and cheapest way to 'publish' your comic.
Ask friends, family, anybody, about flaws in your comic or things that should be added. Make sure you also ask what is good about it, and make sure those elements are strong in the comic. Ask many people, because answers are likely to vary.
One quick drawing style is to use "stick figures". You could just use them initially to get down your ideas. If you want to keep with stick figures, make sure that they are unique and interesting in the way that you portray them.

Warnings
Have the right motives. Don't try to write comics because you think it is a way to make some money or get recognition. If that is your reason for writing comics you will most likely end up disappointed and discouraged.

You see some of this is kinda of cool....but i have heard it all before.....now to go and venture where no Raffy has been before.

Friday's Dawn

So it's a Friday , I was introduced to this blogger by a friend "thanks". Now what should i rant about today !! Well first off i can't wait till 5pm so i can take off from Austin and go and check out the great air out in Corsicana! Anyways on to something more of a GREATER topic ~

SPACE: Dawn Mission- the journey to the heart of the asteroid belt

So this is an interesting topic indeed for me at least and that is what counts for well being!

few days ago on
9-27-07

It will take almost a decade for this mission to be complete and written into not only our American history but in world history. Nothing may ever come of this expedition besides the will of exploration and imagination. the Dawn Mission is drawn out to get results from 2 bodies, one Vesta an asteroid and the other a dwarf planet named Ceres. These celestial bodies are believed to have been accreted in early history of our solar system. The mission is suppose to characterize every aspect of our early solar system the subjective process as to how is was formed.....ya i know some people have different theories mainly religious ones as to how we all got here and were we are all going in time. But really what's it going to hurt to have a little imagination and curiosity at heart to ask the question what if ......?

So we have to bodies here Ceres and Vesta, both formed completely different , so the big question is why...Why would they form so differently being so close together and why would their evolutionary paths be so different. If they could figure out why and if the technology we continue to grow upon and make greater; maybe we can become creators ourselves. One simple chemical compound could be added to the mix and forever change a planet forever making it bearable for humans. Turn a planet that has no oxygen into a nature haven . So far fetched but still fun you get the idea. See how fun it is to creatively think of different ways to benefit on exploration and to ask questions and then work on getting the answer.

The study of the two bodies will consist of you know the great ol' camera -of course the best digital camera..., a visible and infrared mapping spectrometer and a gamma ray and neutron spectrometer they also have tools to test each individuals gravity fields which is very important to us of course!

I am sure i will be giving on time updates and checking Nasa.Gov everyday lol!
